When we went for a ride to drop off the garbage, my parents, brother, his friend, & I were dropping it off, the wind and rain picked up really fast and we couldn't see a thing! When driving back home the power lines on the left side of the road started to fall down because the wind was so strong, my Mom started freaking out and we pulled over to the right side of the road and drove to the first street which was Button. We got on the side because the power lines were falling and the Lazy Bear Restaurants roof came flying off. We got home and stayed inside for 15 minutes until it calmed down, it did and the rain was gone and the sun was out once again. We drove around and came back home. My Dad wanted to go for a ride and wanted to take me, so we did and we took my camera and went back to the Lazy Bear Restaurant and took pictures. Construction workers were working on the roof already, as we were sitting in the truck watching a lady pulled up to my side and rolled down our windows, my Dad and her started talking about what happened and she told us it was a funnel cloud that was above Lazy Bear, just that moment we waited for her to pull out and we drove away 2 minutes after and went home to tell my Mom that we were in the heart of the funnel cloud. This happened around 7 or 8PM, June 30th, 2011 right before Canada Day when we have a parade and fun activities. No one was hurt, good thing!
